Our Calling We are called to support the wonderful people and programs that serve our community by: Investing in our Families and in the Lives of Youth Sharing Christian principles and programs that build healthy mind, body and spirit. Providing support for our young people to attend camps, retreats, and other growth experiences that build vital leaders for today and tomorrow.
Our Mission People Not Places ---------- Programs Not Property As We have worked with camp financial drives across the nation, we noticed that most are building driven rather than people driven. Our primary goal is to help these camp directors, as well as youth leaders and school teachers to focus on serving youth--rather than having to worry about raising money. The Stub Fund is not designed to invest in one specific building or site, but to invest in the lives of Young people.
Our plan Our plan is to work with communities in the region to create a common ground where all the youth service organizations can come together in service to the community. We will supply programming and support to allow schools to attend camp allowing their children to participate in an over night experience. (Example the 5th grade class retreat led by the district teachers) allowing the teachers to bond with their students and parents Gaining new avenues of communication and mutual respect. On this common ground our civic and church leaders could participate allowing the students to see the whole community working together. We would also promote multi- denominational summer camping in conjunction with the YMCA, area churches and other organizations including our teachers and coaches in the planning and implementation of each event. Our goal would be to break down the walls in the creation of programming that opens the door to communication and teamwork between these mutually beneficial organizations.
Our Vision We want to focus on the issues that affect the family. We will identify and overcome barriers and encourage the full participation of faith-based and community organizations We will work in association with individuals and other organizations who recognize that the family is the building block of society.
Our Project Camp on the Rock We believe our community will be enhanced by the presence of a camp and we are pursuing many avenues to make this happen including program development in the schools and churches in the surrounding counties. Camp on the Rock will be a Family Friendly event designed to facilitate the work of the many organizations that make our community work.
